Arlington Priest is a contemporary folk duo based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Drawing from diverse musical influences including classical, rock, folk, and country, their sound combines traditional folk elements with modern rock musical aesthetics. With airtight harmonies reminiscent of Simon and Garfunkel and the Indigo Girls, the two bring together Rhett McAllister’s powerful tenor, heartfelt lyrics and unconventional melodies with Jill Priest’s soulful voice and passionate interpretations. Since moving from New York just over a year ago, where they performed at such places as CB’s 313 Gallery, The Triad Lounge, and Fast Folk’s offspring, The Sun Music Company, the two have become regular performers at local Atlanta coffeehouses and popular venues. Performing at places such as The Red Light Cafe, Eddie’s Attic and Smith’s Olde Bar they have been generating quite a buzz in the area for newcomers to the scene and are rapidly picking up a loyal following. They were finalists at Smith’s recent Open Mic Madness, and have won the nationally renowned open mic competitions at Eddie’s Attic. They are looking forward to adding more accolades to the list as they work their way through the Southeast music scene with pristine vocals and heartfelt messages of love, loss and most of all truth.
