Bachelor Red
Bachelor Red, a female-fronted quartet based out of Atlanta, GA, combines elements of pop, rock, and Americana to create well-crafted, intelligent songs that incorporate thought-provoking lyrics with memorable melodies.
The band features rock veterans Mike Schmeelk on lead guitar and backing vocals, and Alex Pilson on drums. Mike Schmeelk is the former front man of The Pleasantdales, a popular Atlanta band that shared the stage with notable acts such as Dave Matthews, Fuel, and American Hi Fi. Alex is a former member of Shrunken Head, a Nirvana meets Pearl Jam band that was signed to November Records and opened for acts such as Better Than Ezra and Collective Soul.
Singer/songwriter Rebecca Gauthier fronts the band, contributing her classically trained pipes at schools such as Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory, and well-developed stage chops from performing in various local bands and acoustic endeavors. Adam Howard, a naturally gifted stage performer and former guitarist whose influences include The Minutemen, Coldplay, and Johnny Cash, switched to bass to complete the ensemble that now makes up Bachelor Red.
