Local songstress Sarah Tollerson announces the release of "Keeping Old Love Letters" on August 24th at 106 West in Winder, GA. Recorded under the direction of Patrick Rives at The Odyssey Studio in Athens, this will be Sarah's long awaited debut full-length effort.
Growing up in Winder, Ga., Tollerson is already a veteran of the local and regional scenes at the ripe age of 21 after quickly gaining recognition and fan support for her well crafted pop-savvy tunes and powerful vocal abilities.
"Sarah reminded me of a young, extremely happy, Joni Mitchell. She has the unique ability to exude simultaneous cheer and cynicism in the same song. In an industry that dishes out more of the latter, this is a girl to whom I have a feeling it just won't matter," comments former Georgia Music Industry Association president Cindy Lou Harrington.
"Keeping Old Love Letters" is a culmination of years of songwriting from the local sweetheart. Many songs in the track listing date back to her teenage years, while others been more recently crafted during her current studies at Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music.
After spending much of her young career as a solo artist, the independently released "Letters" was recorded with Tollerson's backup band of nearly 2 years. Brothers Trevor Wooden (Miller's Crossing) and Alec Wooden (Beyond Tomorrow) lend their respective guitar and bass talents, while rising recording engineer Joe Bleakley mans the drum kit and percussion for the 9-track collection.
