Drum Lessons at 106 Music School & Supply

In case you or someone you may know may be interested, drum lessons are now being offered at 106 West.

Bill Diehl, drum instructor, has been playing drums for 20 years and teaching for 15 years. His background includes playing percussion in school bands and orchestras along with drumming for a variety of rock and jazz bands. For the past three years Bill has also been the drummer for the renown Barry Richman Band that plays most every Friday and Saturday night throughout Atlanta and the southeast.

Bill plays and teaches all styles of drums including traditional and rock. He follows the Moller method which involves a finger/wrist technique emphasizing speed, power and endurance.

Bill is the father of two young children and very able and willing to teach young children. Bill establishes an easy rapport and successful motivation with adolescents whether beginners or experienced. And, for those adults who have always wanted to play the drums, or those who want to improve, brush up on their skills or learn something different, Bill’s instructional methods are what you have been waiting for.

Drum lessons are scheduled on Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 and Thursdays from 2:00 to 5:00.
Students must bring drumsticks or they may be purchased on site.

A home drum set is preferred but not required for practice. Call 106 West for Bill’s recommended drum set and/or alternative suggestions if you do not yet have a set.

Individual Lessons
25 Minute Sessions (scheduled on the half-hour)
consist of warm-up exercises, a review of the previous lesson and working with the instructor to learn
how to read and play drum music. Instructor provides written music, tabulature, exercises and other learning aids. Method books may also be suggested as the drummer progresses.

One Session Per Week
