Paul Johnson and Friends Goodbye Concert along with Celtic duo Native Stone
106 West guitar instructor/guitarist Paul Johnson will be leaving us soon to head over to Albania for a two-year’s work as a LDS missionary. On Saturday night, June 12th, 106 West will be hosting a concert by Paul and two of his musical friends to honor his time here and send him on his way! Paul’s music for the evening will be of a spiritual nature, including hymns, focusing on songs about Christ, along with a love song or two!
Joining Paul will be Jamie Vest of Athens who is a classically trained vocalist from Washington State University and Justin Joyner of Athens, who has sung in varied vocal groups and choirs and also plays guitar and mandolin. Justin has also served a mission in Mexico. Jamie graced our stage, along with Paul, at the 2007 Christmas show.
Opening up for Paul’s group will be the Winder Celtic folk duo, Native Stone, made up of Keith and Amanda Guy. We marvel at Keith who is an amazing Celtic guitar player. Amanda adds her beautiful vocals and mandolin playing for a wonderful listening experience.
We encourage all of those who know and don’t know Paul to come out to celebrate and enjoy this night.
